https://context.cns.ba/index.php/context/article/view/265

This article examines models of the description and classification of the sciences among the Ottomans in the 15th century. It considers the importance of the works of Mehmed Şah Fenârîzâde, ʿAbd al-Raḥmān al-Bistāmī and Mollā Luṭfī for the classification of the sciences in the 15th-century Ottoman context. Different authors adopted distinct theoretical perspectives and methodological approaches to the subject. The analysis partly addresses the genre of unmūḏağ literature as a particular model for describing scientific disciplines, as well as certain phenomena related to the introduction of new methodological approaches and new ways of conceptualizing the notion of ʿilm within the Ottoman literary tradition of the period. The tendency to relativize certain scientific fields in particular types of literature could partially influence the development of some disciplines while contributing to the neglect of others. The struggle for dominance of a given educational paradigm depended on both the foundational principles upon which the relevant institutions were established and the literature selected and canonized during the formulation of curricula at the time of their founding.
Adnan Kadrić

The aim of the paper is to understand how social media and digital platforms influence the formation and affirmation of religious identity of Albanians online. Methodologically, the study combines social media monitoring (including Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube) of online mosque accounts, several religious influencers, and their followers, with a survey of 100 young people aged 15-35. Existing literature, such as Hoover, Clark, Campbell, Lövheim and Tsuria, describe this phenomenon as „digital religion,” emphasizing the ways in which online spaces foster spiritual exploration, community belonging, and the negotiation of religious identity. The findings show that digital platforms offer young people access to diverse religious content, peer support, and participation in virtual faith communities, helping strengthen religious commitment and build a conscious religious identity. However, the modest sample used here provides only an initial indication of current trends. Future research should expand this area with surveys, interviews, and comparative studies at the regional (Balkan) level. This study makes an original contribution to the Albanian context, providing the first empirical analysis of how young Muslims interact with their faith in the digital age.rtain phenomena related to the introduction of new methodological approaches and new ways of conceptualizing the notion of ʿilm within the Ottoman literary tradition of the period. https://context.cns.ba/index.php/context/article/view/267

Reduplication of linguistic units at different levels is a widespread phenomenon both in Arabic in general and in the text of the Qur'an. Therefore, some of its forms, such as lexical repetition, syntactic parallelism, and reduplication at the semantic level, are frequently discussed in the literature as cohesive and text building devices. The main goal of this paper is the analysis of the forms and functions of system intrinsic forms of reduplication in Arabic, i.e. reduplication of grammatical morphemes, derivational patterns, and a specific form of root morpheme reduplication producing a unique semantic effect. The analysis is based on the analytical-descriptive method and the typological-functional approach. Although the reduplication of grammatical morphemes and derivational patterns originates from the core rules of the Arabic language system, the analysis presented in the paper shows that its usage plays a significant role in the text of the Qur'an. In addition to producing of the complex sound patterns of rhyme and rhythm, it also serves as a text-building and cohesive device, and a means of emphasis, reinforcing the content of the message by drawing attention to its form.
Elma Dizdar

https://context.cns.ba/index.php/context/article/view/268

This paper explores the reception of Sufi motifs in the contemporary Arabic novel, with a focus on two novels by Ğamāl al-Ġīṭānī al-Zaynī Barakāt and Kitāb al- tağalliyāt. In the context of the global popularity of Sufism-inspired novels, as well as the continuity of the Sufi tradition in Arabic literature, the study analyzes specific Sufi symbols, topoi, and terminology in al-Ġīṭānī’s writings. Through a postmodern and phenomenological perspective, it investigates how al-Ġīṭānī, moving away from socialist realism, employs metafiction and intertextuality to transform the Sufi legacy into a critical reflection of contemporary realities. The aim is to highlight the evolution of Sufi elements in Arabic prose and their role in articulating both spiritual and historical narratives.
Mirnes Duranović

https://context.cns.ba/index.php/context/article/view/269

The aim of this paper is to explore the attitudes of sociology students in the Republicvof Croatia towards the ethical implications of using artificial intelligence (AI), specifically ChatGPT, in education and studying, applying the theory of the risk sociology. The research focuses on understanding students’ perceptions of ethical risks and uncertainties associated with the use of AI technology in the educational context, with particular emphasis on potential misuse. The study was conducted on a non-probabilistic sample of 155 undergraduate and graduate sociology students from five universities in Croatia (Faculty of Croatian Studies at the University of Zagreb, the Catholic University of Croatia, and the Faculties of Humanities and Social Sciences in Zagreb, Osijek, Zadar, and Split). The practical implications of this exploratory research include preliminary insights into the attitudes of sociology students towards the ethical challenges of using AI tools (specifically ChatGPT) for educational purposes, which will serve as a basis for developing future measurement instruments. Moreover, these insights will be valuable to universities as they create or revise ethical guidelines within the academic community regarding the use of AI technologies.
Marija ZelićAna Marija DunajIvana Radić
